20.05.2008, Verdun, Meuse, France - Granite tombs at the Douaumont ossuary (L'ossuaire de Douaumont) which contains the mortal remains of 130,000 unknown soldiers, built between 1920 and 1932 at a fortress in the centre of the battlefield. One of the biggest and bloodiest battles of the First World War and in history took place in 1916 in Verdun.
