Strangers who pass by the back door at no 7, West View, Wallsend-on-Tyne, usually gasp with astonishment at the figure of a workman at work re-pointing the wall. For that workman is only 3 years old!! He is William Siddle, a toddler who believes in starting young. He is helping to re-point the house under the supervision and keen eye of his grandfather who says of William, "He does the job as good as any grown up. He is very thorough and does not stop work for a second, even when all the boys and girls from the school opposite stop to watch him on their way home." William is not a bit frightened by heights and is just as happy working at four feet or forty feet!!. November 1953 D6884-001
