Monastery of St. Simeon Stylites the Younger (521-592). The base of the column on top of which Saint Simeon the Stylite was rumoured to have lived. It is said that pilgrims stood in rapt attention in a circular area around the base while the hermit assailed them with wisdom from atop the column.
