Matabele woman using a mangle. A Matabele (Ndebele) woman uses a mangle to wring water from a piece of cloth at Cecil Rhodes' farm in Sauerdale. Rhodes bought the farm after negotiating an end to the Matabele rebellion, and settled some Matabele people there in part fulfilment of a promise to provide them with decent land.
