The village of Lifta, circa 1938. A twisting road winds its way down a hillside beneath the Arab village of Lifta. Lifta's proximity to the Jerusalem-Jaffa highway made it a strategic Zionist target and by February 1948, the village's Arab occupants had been displaced: their homes, businesses and farms destroyed. Lifta near Jerusalem, British Mandate of Palestine (Israel), circa 1938. Lifta, Jerusalem, Israel, Middle East, Asia.
