Unique mask with leonine face, It is painted black with green forehead triangle and red cheek spot, white teeth and a hole at the eye pupil. It bears signs of ancient repair and it is the only surviving mask of such antiquity. May have represented the god Bes. Egypt. Ancient Egyptian. Late Middle Kingdom. Lahun (also called Kahun).
