A faience dish decorated with a design of blossoms and a girl playing the lute, The girl is naked save for a narrow waistband. She has a tattoo of the protective spirit Bes on her thigh and a tiny monkey plucks at the back of her waistband. Possibly a wine drinking bowl, as Bes was the god of drunkenness. Egypt. Ancient Egyptian. 18th dynasty c 1400 1300 BC.
