Fish hook, Winter fishing through holes chopped in the ice was often done by jigging. A bright lure in this case a short string of beads attached near the hook attracted the fish. It was moved up and down by jerking the short rod. A fish, attempting to bite the lure, was impaled in the mouth by the hook. Eskimo.
