Breast yoke used to help in carrying heavy packs, A cord was affixed to one end, passed around the load and looped over the other end the yoke itself was placed across the bearers chest. This yoke is carved with a womans face. It is inset with caribou teeth which served to protect the traveller from harm. Southwest Alaska, USA. Eskimo.
