Weaving peg from Taranaki, Two pegs, one plain, one decorated, were placed in the ground with the topmost weft thread strung between them and the warps hanging down. Cloth was then woven by twining together four threads at a time, while holding the warps taut with the toes. New Zealand. Maori. 18th 19th c Taranaki.
