Fighting knife, Warfare in the Northwest coast was generally limited to small raiding parties where, before the advent of the musket, hand to hand fighting was usual. Soon after contact, some northern groups fashioned fighting knives from the iron blanks offered in trade by early white adventurers. Northwest Coast of America. Tlingit.
