The Nazca "capital" of Cahuachi fronted by the fertile fields flanking the Nazca river, Cahuachi is thought to have been a pilgrimage centre for the small Nazca communities dispersed throughout the area. Its 40 pyramids are natural hills modified with mud bricks not freestanding structures. In addition some 5000 burial have been found in the vicinity, most of them looted. Peru. Nazca. 1 - 500 AD.
