Légende
Zeebrugge, Belgium: April, 1918
An aerial view of the entrance to the Bruges Canal at Zeebrugge with the sunken British ships Thetis, Intrepid, and Iphigenia. It was an attempt to block the port which was used by the German Navy as a base for their U-boats, but largely failed. A dredge can be seen at right clearing a channel which the Germans could still use at high tide.
