Indians Making Adobe Bricks

The padres taught the Native Americans to make the adobe bricks used in the building of the missions. When dry, the bricks were stacked close to where they would be used. These bricks are nine inches wide, eighteen inches long, and four inches thick. Each brick weighs about thirty pounds.
