Life Brand Bartlett Pears . A fly-fisherman catches a rainbow trout on this vintage pear crate label. This 4/5 bushell was sold under the California blue anchor exchange logo and originated at the Dennis W. Leary farm in Walnut Grove, California. Fruit and vegetable crates were stacked for transport all over the United States and to identify one brand from another the growers and pickers developed fancy labels for the sides of the boxes.
