St,petersburg, russia, may 20 2002: russian students work in the laser laboratory of the baltic state technical university, where it's prohibited now to train foreign (and in particular iranian) specialists, this is unjust, says yury saveliev, the head of the university, russian ministry of education explained the prohibition is because the programs could be used to train rocket specialists, the u,s, state department is about to introduce sanctions against the university, at the same time the training of 500 foreign specialists has brought the university 20 million dollars in the last eight years.
