French aviators Albert Tissandier (left) and his brother Gaston Tissandier. The unidentified man at top is presumably an assistant mechanic. Albert Tissandier 1839-1906. Gaston Tissandier 1843-1899. The picture shows the “cockpit” of their 1883 airship which had been fitted with a Siemens electric motor resulting in aviations first electric-powered flight.
