Magic Lantern slide circa 1900 hand coloured. created in 1887. A tour of North Wales. Conway Castle—Banqueting Hall.—This grand room when perfect, was 130 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 20 feet high, and was lighted by nine windows. The roof was supported by eight massive arches, some of which remain, overgrown with ivy. Edward I. spent many a Christmas here, with his Queen and Court, in¬dulging in all the festivities of the season. And a more beautiful residence, at that time, it would be difficult to conceive. “The storm-bent towers that many an age Mocked at feudal warfare's rage, Now in grey and quiet glory Rest from the toils that crowd their story.”
