Magic Lantern slide circa 1900 hand coloured. Titled Cities and places of interest in the Mediterranean.24-MONTE CARLO ‘GARDENS. These gardens, as indeed the whole of the place, might lead the visitor to believe he was in fairyland, so beautiful are they with their rich tropical vegetation and their luxuriance of color. In them every flower and tree of Eastern origin grows as though in its native soil, and the stately palm rears its dark green leaves over the scarlet flowering cactus and the snowy buds ,sea,mountainsof the sparmenia, while at its feet the roses grow in rich profusion.
