Magic Lantern slide circa 1900 hand coloured. Titled Cities and places of interest in the Mediterranean.44—ALGIERS PROM THE HARBOUR. We go still farther south, indeed to the remote ends of the Mediterranean, and we arrive on the, northern shores of Africa at Algiers. It will be seen by the accompanying view that this now -celebrated winter resort is large, and handsome, and of—near the harbour—modern construction, whilst at the back rises the more ancient part of the town. The quays and boulevards here will remind anyone who has ever seen Geneva of that city, and also, in some cases, of Marseilles.
