Gleason's Pictorial Drawing Room Caompanion etching from 1852.The sailing of an emigrant ship from Sunderland for Australia, the first that ever left that port for the Pacific, took place on the 31st of July. The new vessel is a splendid clipper brig, named the Lizzie Webber, built by Mr. Pile, of Sunderland, and commanded by Captain Rowntree. Upon the announcement of Captain Rowntree, commander, Mr. Wright addressed a few parting words to the company upon the occasion of the departure of the first emigrant vessel from Sunder¬land to Australia
