Third Celtiberian War or Numantine War (143-133 B.C.) between Celtiberian tribes of Hispania Citerior and the Roman government. The heroic end of Numance. After beeing sieged by the troops of the Consul Scipio Aemilianus, the Numantines committed suicide rather than surrender to Rome. Engraving by Rafael del Castillo.
