It was built on the top of the mount San Cristobal, surrounding Pamplona, after the end of the Carlist Wars to complete the defensive possibilities of the Pamplona Citadel. The work was directed by the engineering commander Jose de Luna y Orfila. New fortifications. Important defense works of the mount San Cristobal, in execution by the Military Engineers Corps.
