Victor Balaguer Cirera (1824-1901). Spanish writer, historian and politician. One of the main figures of the Renaixença or Catalan Renaissance. From 1843 to 1868 he led the Liberal Party in Barcelona. Portrait of Victor Balaguer as honorary president of the Instituto Nacional del Trabajo (National Labour Institute).
