During the second third of the 19th century many Europeans went to make their fortunes in northern Algeria. On June 11, 1881 the men of Bu-Amena attacked the farmers, causing panic among the European emigrants, travelling around the towns in the interior of Tunisia and Algeria, preaching holy war. Many returned to their countries of origin. Algeria, Saida (Oran region). Panic of the European inhabitants when the settlers who were able to escape the Kharfaffah massacres arrived.
