Pompeii. Quadriporticus of the Theatres or Gladiators Barracks. Located behind the big stage of the theatre, it was originally the porticoed square ("porticus post scaenam") where the public gathered before and during the intervals of the shows. During Nero's reign it was transformed into a barracks for gladiators. Partial view of the colonnade. Italy, La Campania.
