Control Tower Radar In Use
Légende
Gilfillan Brothers' Ground Controlled Approach (GCA) Radar Landing equipment, shown in a photo simulation, is now in use in the tower of Los Angeles International Airport. The circular scope in the right console shows all aircraft within a 60-mile radius of the airport. The two scopes in the left console show all aircraft on final approach to the runway in elevation, asimuth and range. These are known as "Azel" scopes and can inform the pilot of the precise position of the aircraft in three dimensions with an accuracy of 15 feet in three dimensions, Los Angeles, CA, 12/1/1950.
