Helen Dettweiler (left) (1914-1990) is awarded the first of the Women's Air Force Service Pilot's service pins by Ethel A Sheehy (right), special Assistant to Miss Jacqueline Cochran (not shown), Director of Women Pilots. With the deactivation of the WASPs this month, all members will be given the new pin to wear on civilian dress in recognition of their service, no location, 12/20/1944.
