"At the Revolt Square", Petrograd [ca. 1920]
The square was formerly known as "Peter's Square", after the Bronze Horseman monument erected by Catherine the Great in 1782, representing Peter the Great. In 1925, the place was renamed "Decembrist Square", to mark the centenary of the Decembrist revolt against the imperial power. It is now known as "Senate Square".
