Khanderao (also known as Khandoba) and his consort Mhalsa ride on a richly caparisoned white horse. Its tail is dyed in three horizontal red stripes. With his left arm he embraces the goddess seated on his left thigh and in his upper right hand he carries the damaru (hourglass shaped drum), in his upper left the mriga (gazelle) and in his lower right the trishula (trident).
