Vamana as a young brahmachari
Légende
Vamana, one of the avatar (incarnations) of Vishnu, as a young brahmachari (disciple) walks with a kamandalu (water vessel) in his right hand and a chhattra (parasol) in his left. His forehead, on which a namam (emblem) is drawn, is shaven and his long hair gathered in a kudumi at the back of his head. He wears a short lower garment and earrings, various necklaces, armlets, bracelets and anklets.
