The utsava murti of Rajagopalasvami of Mannargudi
Légende
The utsava murti, the processional image, of Rajagopalasvami of Mannargudi, a form of Vishnu. The two-armed god, whose forehead is graced by the characteristic namam (emblem), stands on a low dais. In his right hand he carries the chentu (crooked stick), and a shakti (long spear), rests against his right shoulder. His left elbow is supported by an armrest, and in the crook of his left arm he carries a horn, a flowering bough and a bow.
