Brahma with four heads and four arms, seated in lalitasana on a throne. The throne is placed on his vahana (conveyance), the hamsa, which is endowed with an ornate comb and intricately foliated tail. In his upper right hand the god carries a pustaka (book), and in his upper left a kamandalu, shown here as a flask; the lower right hand is in abhaya and the lower left in varada mudra.
