Matsya, one of the avatar (incarnations) of Vishnu, shown as half man, half fish. In his upper right hand is the chakra (discus) and in his upper left the shankha (conch), while in his lower right hand he brandishes a sword and in his lower left is a buckler. A blue strip at the bottom of the painting suggests the sea.
