Isana, guardian of the north-eastern direction, rides on his elegantly caparisoned and bejeweled white bull. He carries in his upper right hand the damaru (hourglass shaped drum), in his upper left the mriga (gazelle) and in his lower right the trishula (trident); his lower left hand is empty.
