Shiva holding the damaru and the mriga
Légende
Shiva standing in samabhanga, holding the damaru (hourglass shaped drum) in his upper right hand and the mriga (gazelle) in his upper left. His lower right hand is in abhaya mudra and in the lower left he carries a gada (mace). He wears an elaborate jata makuta (crown of matted hair) from which fall four long dreadlocks and is flanked by two lotus-bearing goddesses. The attributes held in Shiva’s upper hands have been corrected: originally they were probably the chakra and shankha.
