War of Roussillon, also called War of the Pyrenees or War of the Convention, (1793-1795). Conflict between the Spain of Charles IV and the First French Republic. Feat of captain Manuel Jose Pineda (January 1795). After the reorganisation of the Spanish troops by General Urrutia, Captain Pineda was ordered to surprise a reserve artillery park of the French army, in the Pla del Coto, located between Bellegarde and Figueras, with a contingent of Catalan volunteers and 200 somatenes, he reached the rear of the French army, attacking it with bayonets.
