Muse Sarcophagus. 3rd-4th centuries. Marble. Decorated with reliefs depicting the muses of theatre and music, on either side of a central male figure. On the right Erato, Calliope, Thalia, Euterpe and Polyhymnia are represented. On the left, an unidentified muse, Terpsichore, Urania and Melpomene. Both ends are depicted funerary geniuses.
