Sviatoslav I Igorevich.
Légende
Sviatoslav I Igorevich, c. 942 - 972, also spelled Svyatoslav. Grand prince of Kiev. Sviatoslav engaged in many wars against the Pechenegs, people of Mongolian origin. He never became a Christian and his attachment to the old Gods is seen in this illustration where he is seen massacring and sacrificing the Pechenegs in gratitude for the Gods' favours and to obtain the continuance of them. From Hutchinson's History of the Nations, published 1915.
