In 305BC Seleucus I Nicator, a Macedonian general of Alexander the Great, attacked India but was defeated by Chandragupta and had to make peace with him, which included the gift of a daughter as a wife for his rival, she finally arrived in Pataliputra (modern day Patna) in 303BC.
