The entrance to The Crystal Palace pneumatic railway, an experimental atmospheric railway that ran in Crystal Palace Park between the Sydenham and Penge entrances to the park in 1864. Tickets cost sixpence each, the trains ran between 1pm and 6pm and the journey time was 50 seconds. From Les Merveilles de la Science, published 1870.
