A large group portrait of colonial European men, women and families and Indian men, in formal dress, standing in front of the fountain in Darjeeling. Ladies with parasols and local Indian men are also standing on the walkway above. The new fountain was situated opposite the bandstand in Darjeeling's 'chowrasta', the equivalent of a town square. Caption reads: Unveiling of Fountain at Darjeeling by the Maharaja of Kuch Behar.
