Jewish colonies located north of the Lebanese-Syrian border fear being the first to suffer attack from Arab forces stationed outside Palestine where trucks carrying Syrian Arabs often drive near the border and cross it very quickly. Often, these are considered as preparations for an Arab offensive, Jewish traders who wandered from one town to another or from one large city to another, were forced to move under Arab fire. These colonies are very remote, and they can not receive help less than an hour before they call for help.
