Battle of the Hydaspes (326 BC). Battle between Alexander the Great and King Porus, ruler of the Indian kingdom of Paurava. The battle took place along the Jhelum River (called Hydaspes by the ancient Greeks), in what is today Pakistan, during Alexander's campaign to conquer Asia. Defeat of Porus. Engraving by A. Roca.
