The French and Indian Wars (1689-1763) were North American colonial wars between England and France in the late 17th and 18th centuries. The aim was the domination of the eastern part of the continent. Soon after the third war broke out in 1722. The French Jesuit Father Sebastien Rasle had lived among the Indians for almost 40 years and sympathized with the views of the governor of Canada. He was brutally murdered on August 1724. .
