James Wolfe (1727-1759( was a British soldier and served as second in command to Jeffrey Amherst in the French and Indian Wars. He commanded the expedition against Quebec and forced an open battle with the French on the Plains of Abraham. His victory was key to give New France to England. He was mortally wounded in the battle.
