Légende
Christopher Columbus (1451?-1506) gained royal support from King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain and sailed west in three ships (Santa Maria, Pinta, and Nina), hoping to reach the Orient. He landed on San Salvador Island on october 12, 1492. He made three more voyages to the New world.
