Frederick the Great founded the League of Princes. The League of Princes of 1785 was an alliance of Prussia and the Electorates of Brunswick-Luneburg and Saxony with 14 smaller princes of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation that lasted until 1791. It successfully opposed the plan of Emperor Joseph II and Elector Karl Theodor of Palatinate-Bavaria to exchange the Austrian Netherlands for Old Bavaria, Historical, digitally restored reproduction from an original of the time.
