San Francisco, California November 27, 1933 Governor James Rolph declared today that The aroused people of that fine city of San Jose were so enraged at the slaying and kidnaping of that fine youth, Brooke Hart, that peaceful and law-abiding as they are, they should rise and mete out swift justice to these two merciless murderes and kidnapers, after Thomas Thurmond and John Holmes had been dragged from the San Jose jail and lynched.
