Battle of Agincourt
Légende
This illustration, dating to about 1913, shows an incident that happened at the beginning of the great battle between the English and French at Agincourt on October 25, 1415. Sir Thomas Erpingham, having arranged the troops, exhorted them to fight vigorously. He then threw into the air the baton that he held and cried, 'Now strike!' The army responded with a great shout, at which the French marvelled greatly. Thus began the fight that ended with a victory for England.
